MTSU Illinois Jacquet Jazz Festival was on Saturday, March 25th, 2017

Stay tuned to the MTSU website for information and tickets at

Below is the Program for this year's event:

The 2017 MTSU Jazz Festival on Saturday, March 25th. MTSU will be offering a quality educational experience to the students of the middle Tennessee area.  The festival has been growing every year and many of the board members of IJF will be attending and awarding a scholarship on Saturday as a part of this event.

MTSU offers a unique approach to jazz education, one that is dedicated to offering both junior high and high school students an individual focus on the jazz style and the art of jazz improvisation. With 2 sessions geared toward improvisation, a master class with one of our jazz faculty members, and inclusion of the students on a late afternoon concert directed by a jazz faculty member, it will be of great value to area students interested in furthering their mastery of the jazz style.

The guest artist, jazz saxophonist Rich Perry, is one of the true trend-setters in contemporary jazz.  Find him online at  He will present a jazz style clinic at 2:30 pm and be featured on the 7:30 pm concert with MTSU Jazz Ensemble I and Jazz Faculty Members.
